South Croydon Benefice Church Identity
To coincide with the completion of the South Croydon Benefice restoration, I worked with the church to design a new identity that could flex across both St. Augustine’s and St. Peter’s churches in a unified way.
As shown below, the previous logo and materials were extremely dated and in great need of a refresh. I worked closely with the Reverend and church committee to capture their vision and translate it into an identity that embodies their passion for faith, people and community.

Logo Symbol
There were a few initial concepts I tried before I settled on combining the details of the two churches. I designed a core geometric symbol, taking inspiration from both of the church building’s stained-glass windows.
Design Applications
In addition to the Church’s core materials, I looked at how the identity could flex across different areas of the Church’s work such as creating a unified look for all aspects of the design collateral from the Sunday School Programme to the Church Tithe collection envelopes. It all worked together to build a cohesive brand.
Church Templates
Creating the new identity also involved creating templates of design materials that the church committee members could edit and produce themselves. An online workshop was held to show the committee members how to edit the templates so they could create their own materials and design collateral following the guidelines and tutorials which I supplied.
